(iTers News) – Elemental Technologies, the leading supplier of software-defined video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, today announced that MobiTV, a global leader in enabling delivery of live and on-demand TV Everywhere, is using Elemental video processing solutions to support its cloud-based video delivery platform. MobiTV is using Elemental Live and Elemental Server to deliver more than 40 HD television channels – including live news and sports and a variety of full-episode on-demand shows -- for streaming or download to hundreds of devices through multiple pay TV, wireless and OTT partners.

Elemental enables MobiTV to deliver HD mobile and multiscreen video that provides superior image quality, the ability to quickly scale encoding capacity with consumer demand, and reduce CAPEX spending. By implementing software-based video processing solutions from Elemental, MobiTV has increased its processing capabilities, and future-proofed its infrastructure for high-efficiency video coding (HEVC).

“The video quality, content volume, variety of formats, and the ability to support HEVC through a software upgrade is a combination unique to Elemental in the video processing market,” said MobiTV Chief Operating Officer Bill Routt. ““Together with Elemental’s industry-leading video processing solutions, we are able to continue delivering new innovations in video streaming technology for our customers.”

“MobiTV is a multiscreen leader on many levels. Major wireless carriers rely on MobiTV to support U.S. mobile video traffic and pay TV operators around the world rely upon the company to help deliver millions of minutes of premium content each year,” said Dan Marshall, SVP of Worldwide Sales for Elemental. “Our partnership with a market leader like MobiTV will allow us to contribute to the success of its customers, while growing our relationship.”

Elemental will feature its innovative software-defined video solutions at NAB 2014 April 7-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (South Upper Hall, Booth 2724). The company will showcase real-time 4K HEVC video processing as well as video streaming in turnkey, virtualized and cloud-based deployments.
