(iTers News) – Technicolor and NAGRA, the digital TV division of the Kudelski Group (SIX:KUD.S) today announced a partnership which will leverage Technicolor’s Qeo communication framework to develop innovative applications for OpenTV 5 that enable interoperability with other devices and applications inside and outside of the home. Through this partnership, Technicolor and NAGRA are committed to enhancing consumer’s media experience by bridging the mobile, smart home, communication, social media and video ecosystems.



At IBC, NAGRA and Technicolor will demonstrate how a smarter, contextual parental control application can be deployed by using Qeo to synchronize live, time-shifting and remote content watching approval. This application is the first of a joint application roadmap that will enhance the video experience for services providers and consumers using NAGRA’s OpenTV 5 middleware.


Qeo is a revolutionary communication framework for simple, secure communication between applications and devices. Its peer-to-peer, real-time and very lightweight nature allows for the rapid development of very innovative services by interconnecting devices, platforms and applications of all kinds.
