(iTers News) - Samsung Electronics plans to roll out a commercial version of flexible, bendable OLED panels sometime in 2013. During its IR, or investors relation Q&A session for the 4th earnings results held yesterday, Samsung said that the company is now in talks with an array of smart phone makers to supply the flexible and bendable OLED panels.

Dr. Nan Sung (Stephen), Woo, president with Samsung System LSI business, first showed off the flexible and bendable OLED screens at its keynote session for International CES 2013 that ran from Jan. 8 to 12.

And, he brought an executive from Microsoft Corp. on the stage to give a chance to demonstrate a flexible and bendable screen smart phone that runs on Windows Phone 8.

Samsung didn't identify who the company is in talks with, but rumors have it that much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S4 will become the first smart phone that incorporate the flexible and bendable OLED panel, displaying information on the curved edge of its screen.

During the demo at CES 2013, Samsung showed up a stream of incoming information on the bended edge of the flexible OLED panel.
