(iTers News) - Center for Intelligent Robotics, a business arm of state-funded KIST, or Korea Institute of Science and Technology, showed off kitchen maid robot CIROS 2 at Robot World 2012 exhibition opened on Oct. 26 in the Goyang City of Korea.
Built with an array of vision-and voice-recognition sensors like microphones, and built-in CMOS camera sensors, the CIROS is so intelligent that it can work as housemaid or kitchen helper.
During the demo, CIROS picked the kitchen knife, neatly sliced a cucumber to thin pieces to make a salad. As it work as programmed, the robot also plucked small tomatoes and put them on the plate, which pieces of cucumber were already placed. The robot even dressed them with measurable amounts of oil.
Young-ho Park, PR manager with Center of Intelligence Robotics said that the CIROS2 is the most advanced robot in the world with it vision-and voice-recognition based intelligence system.
