(iTers News) -HICEL Co., Ltd. started out as a maker of optical films for LCD panels in 1998 and today is churning out a wide variety of optical films from prism sheets to diffusion film sheets for LCD BLU system.
Based on its expertise in optical film patterning, HICEL recently came up with a circuitry printing technology that enables PCB, or plate sheet manufacturers to print circuitry patterns on a wide variety of plates from PETs to PIs.
Compared with a traditional etching type-manufacturing process , the roll printing technology helps greatly cut short pre-cover-lay manufacturing processes by 4 steps from 6 to 2, leading to cutbacks in lead time and costs.
"As you see, the advantage of our roll-printing technology can enable manufacturers to print circuitry patterns on a wide variety of panel plates like diffusion, or PET sheets with materials like silver, and then mount LED chips to shed light, " said Lee DongJin, assistant research engineer of R&D department.
The printing technology is especially very useful for patterning circuitry for flexible PCB and OLED modules.
