(iTers News) - Gameloft and MediaTek today announced that Gameloft’s Danger Dash game will be optimized for MediaTek’s LinkIt platform specially designed for “wearable” and Internet of Things, or IoT devices.  This optimized version of Danger Dash will now give players the amazing opportunity to interact with smartwatches that will integrate the LinkIt platform from MediaTek.

LinkIt is a development platform built to accelerate the wearable and (IoT) markets. LinkIt integrates MediaTek's Aster System on Chip (SoC), the smallest wearable SoC currently on the market. MediaTek’s LinkIt platform is designed to enable the developer community to create a broad range of wearable and IoT products and solutions.

Thanks to this partnership, Gameloft can offer a new gaming experience that will allow players to control their character with a smartwatch. Players will be able to dodge obstacles, escape from tigers, collect artifacts and test their spirit of adventure with a simple twist of the wrist.

“It is always exciting to develop games that are played in ways that were never imagined before,” says Gonzague De Vallois, Senior Vice President Publishing Gameloft. “Danger Dash will perfectly showcase the capabilities of the smartwatch in terms of gameplay, and we are delighted to bring it to even more players all around the world.”

“We are witnessing a real evolution in wearable devices,” says J.C. Hsu, General Manager of New Business Development at MediaTek. “Thanks to this partnership, we are delighted to bring consumers around the globe a better user experience of wearable devices combining MediaTek's best-in-class SoC solutions and Gameloft's innovative games.”

MediaTek shipped more than 220 million smartphone chipsets last year.

Danger Dash will be also available for free on MediaTek chipsets for smartphones starting with MediaTek MT6595 – The World’s first 4G LTE True Octa-core smartphone SoC.
