The Korean vernacular IT daily Electronics Times quoted Wall Street Journal as saying that Foxconn’s CEO Gou Tai-ming, also known as Terry Gou, has revealed his investment plan at the display panel production investment treaty with Guangzhou city government.

The new LCD facility is scheduled to come on line in 2019.

Gou CEO was quoted as saying, “The Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee decided to use the LCDs produced from the new Guangzhou facility in 2020, and with high possibility, the panels will also be used in the Beijing Winter Olympics.”
