The Korean tech giant showcased its new compact mobile digital radiography, or DR system called GM85 at the 19th World Congress of International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT), which is held in Seoul from October 20 to 22.
Samsung said the mobile digital X-ray features exceptional mobility, enhanced user convenience and a high image quality.
To help radiographers and radiologists easily move the mobile digital X-ray, GM85 comes with ultra-compact design with width as narrow as 555mm and weight as light as 349kg, collapsible columns of the machine can be folded when moving, and soft driving control solution and the sensors that delivers safe navigation and better driving experience.
The easily controlled mobile X-ray machine is also improved with features that help optimized workflow and usability. The solutions like source to image distance, or SID guide and S-Align helps fast and easy X-ray image capture by giving detailed information of device positioning and detector’s angle to the Tube Head Unit, or THU for precise alignment to enhance image quality. The built-in long-lasting battery enables the machine to work all-day long with a single charge, allowing the users to capture up to 220 X-ray images.
Image processing engine called S-Vue is embedded in the mobile digital X-ray as to enhance the image resolution and clarity, helping better examination of captured picture. Tube and Line Enhancement brings improved clarity of the tube and line in chest images through single on-screen click.
The GM85 will go on sale in Korea at the end of October.
