(iTers News) - Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. showcased a 2nd generation of premium mobile processor called as Exynos 8 Octa, the company’s first chipset to incorporate its own custom designed ARM cores.

Fabricated with its proprietary 14nm FinFET process technology, the mobile SoC comes built with 8 cores.

Samsung’s own custom-designed ARM cores are based on 64-bit ARMv8 architecture.

It gives 30% more performance, consuming 10% less power, compared to its previous Exynos 7 Octa 7420.

It also comes embedded with most advanced LTE Rel. 12 Cat. 12/13 modem, offering download speed of up to 600Mbps and a peak upload speed of 150Mbps.

The Exynos 8 Octa is on display at Mobile World Congress 2016 running from February 22  to 25 in  Barcelona, Spain.

The highly integrated one chip solution is at the heart of Samsung’s newly-released Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smart phones
