(iTers News) - “Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphones can see, hear, feel, and understand what users are talking and thinking,“ stressed Samsung.

At an event held yesterday for product launching in Korea, Samsung Electronics demonstrated how intelligently the Galaxy S3 smartphones interact with users, sporting a wealth of innovative human to machine interfaces.

Highlighting them is ‘Smart Stay’, a vision sensor-based user interface technology, which keep a Galaxy S3 screen on bright until users’ eyes distract out of the screen.

Using a built-in front-facing camera, this vision-based UI interacts with users’ eyesight to determine whether they are reading email messages or other contents, or not. Otherwise, the screen automatically turns blackened out to save power.

“Staring at users’ eyesight, Galaxy S3 knows whether to keep the screen on, or not. You don’t need to tap into the screen, or slide on an on-screen virtual switch to turn on it,” Samsung said.

Its built-in ‘S Voice’ UI technology is catching eyes, too. According to Samsung, the S Voice speech-recognition technology goes beyond other voice-activated UIs in its ability to understand complicated syntax.

For example, while driving, a user speaks to ask, “How about today’s weather?” The Galaxy S3 answers in voice, “Today is sunny in Seoul, and current temperature is now around 30 degrees Celsius, at the same time displaying graphical data on weather.

Samsung’s ‘S Voice’ demonstration also goes further to show it dictates today’s schedules in voice and calls up breaking news.

Samsung’s speech-recognition technology can support 8 different languages.

Built with MEMS-based motion sensors like gyroscope, accelerometer and proximity sensors, its ‘Direct Call’ technology reads users’ motions and then automatically activates what they are supposed to do.

For example, if users receive a message and get into action to make a phone call by pressing their Galaxy S3 smartphones closer to ears, it automatically makes a phone call to the person who just sent the message
