(iTers News) - Much-anticipated Galaxy S6 and S6 edge smartphones went sale on April 10 in about 20 countries including home turf Korea, U.K, U.S., and Germany.
The Galaxy S6 series of smart phones were a dramatic breakaway from Samsung’s traditional design concept of a battery-detachable outer case, coming in a one integrated metal frame case that resembles that of iPhone series in the shape and look.
The back and front cover was made of Corning’s tempered Gorilla glass. The real beauty of the Galaxy S6 design is the seamless harmonious combination of the metal frame and the Gorilla glasses on the back and front allowing people hands to smoothly run through them
To recoup the shortcomings of its built-in battery pack system, Samsung has adopted a quick battery charging system that allows it to charge the battery half to the full in a matter of 10 minutes. Its power consumption is so low that the only ten minutes’ of charging can keep the Galaxy S6 series alive for about 4 hours.
It comes built with both of the two slightly different wireless charging technology standards –WPC, or wireless power consortium Qi, and PMA, or Power Matters Alliance, both of which are based on electromagnetic inductance technology. ,
Powered by Samsung Exynos 7 64-bit Octa core 7420 processor, both of the Samsung Galaxy 6 and 6 edge come in a 5.1-inch AMOLED touch screen of 2560 x1440p , but the edge comes with a twist – a slightly curved screen on the left and right side.
Fabricated with Samsung’s 14nm FinFET process, the Exynos 7 Octa core comes built with ARM Cortex 2.1 GHz quad core, 1.5GHz quad core, and Mali-T760 GPU. It incorporates 16 megapixel rear-facing camera with HDR, LED flash and 4K video recording capability. Its front-facing camera boasts of a 5 mega pixel CMOS image sensors,
Its camera activation UI, or user interface looks fluid and intuitive, allowing users to activate its camera app just with the double click of its menu start button on the bottom. So, you don’t bother to fiddle with the touch screen to search the camera app and activate it. Panoramic view, virtual shots are available, too.
It comes built with InvenSense’s IDG-2030 dual axis gyroscope sensor for optical image stabilization. InvenSense also supplied MP65M 6-axis accelerometer and gyroscope sensor. Other components include Skyworks 78041 hybrid multimode multiband front end module, Avago AFEM-9020 PAM, Wolfson Microelectronics WM1840 audio codec, Maxim MAX98505 Class-DG audio amplifier.
Both of them run on Android 5.0. OS. It operates on a 2600mAh battery. Samsung said that the Galaxy S6 edge’s battery allow users to surf Web pages on the LTE network for 12 hours, while ensuring 26 hours of 3G WCDMA talk time, and up to 58 hours of music playback.
